At a glance

Browser-based tests

Tests run in your browser and use the events or media needed for each check.

Access when you start

Camera and microphone permissions are requested only from their respective tests.

Test media stays local

Camera and microphone access is requested only when you start the related test. Recordings and photos are handled locally in your browser and are not uploaded.

You're in control

You choose whether to grant access, stop a test, delete a photo or download a recording.

Privacy details

Data used by the tests

01

Tests process the browser-reported keyboard, mouse, display, refresh-rate and audio interactions needed to show their results.

The current application does not send these test results to an Inputest server.

Camera and microphone

02

The microphone test requests access when you choose Record. Audio is recorded in your browser. Pressing Stop ends the recording, but the microphone stream stays active for stable playback and another recording. The stream is released when you turn off the microphone, hide the tab, or leave the page. The temporary recording is released when replaced or when you leave the page.

The webcam test requests access when you choose Start Camera. Its live stream is not recorded or uploaded. Only the latest photo is held in the page, and stopping the camera clears it.

Local storage and preferences

03

Inputest stores your selected language in browser localStorage so it can be restored on later visits. Test results are not saved as a history.

Recordings and photos remain available only in the open page unless you download them. Downloaded files are saved by your browser to the location you choose.

Cookies, analytics and external services

04

Inputest uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views and page performance, helping us understand site usage and improve the site. Cloudflare processes these analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and, according to Cloudflare, is not designed to identify or track individual visitors across websites.

Your browser still makes ordinary requests to load the site. Hosting providers may process request metadata, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the service.

Inputest currently has no advertising trackers or advertising scripts and does not display ads. Google AdSense is present only as a site verification meta tag; advertising technologies have not been enabled.

Feedback form

05

When you submit the Feedback form, the reason, selected tool or topic, message and any email address you provide are sent to Formspree, which processes submissions for Inputest. Sending this information is voluntary.

Retention and deletion

06

Test results are temporary interface state and clear when you leave or reset a test. A microphone recording and the latest webcam photo are removed when replaced or when the page is closed; Delete removes the current photo.

Your language preference remains in localStorage until you clear your browser storage.

Policy updates

07

This page describes the current version of Inputest. If the way the site uses data or device permissions changes, this policy will be revised and the date above will be updated.
