How to test your mouse scroll wheel

Prepare your mouse

Choose the scroll direction you want to test, then place the pointer over the test area.

Scroll in the test area

Turn the wheel while the pointer is over the area. Only browser-delivered wheel events inside it are recorded.

Review the scroll results

Check upward and downward event counts, recent direction history, and unexpected reversals. Browser processing can affect results; the test cannot confirm a hardware fault.
