Your typing stays on this device. Personal bests and summaries of up to 50 recent attempts are stored locally; typed text and keystroke sequences are not.

How does the typing speed test work?

Choose 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes or free mode, then type the displayed words. Timing starts with your first character. Results show WPM, CPM, accuracy and errors. The typing language is independent of the site language.

Use an English keyboard layout and match the displayed letters and capitals.

What is WPM?

WPM means words per minute: correct characters divided by five and by elapsed minutes. CPM is correct characters per minute, not physical keystrokes. A space counts toward speed only after a completely correct word. Backspace removes deleted characters from the speed calculation.

How is typing accuracy calculated?

Accuracy is correct input attempts divided by all character attempts, including spaces, as a percentage. Correcting a mistake does not erase the original error. Backspace itself is not an attempt. Browser and input delays can affect results; compare sessions using the same language and mode.

How can I improve my typing speed?

Practise regularly with a relaxed posture and aim for accuracy first. Use all your fingers, look at the text rather than the keys, and increase your pace gradually.

Which typing mode should I choose?

Use 30 seconds for a quick check, 60 seconds for a balanced session, or 3 minutes to practise sustained typing. Free mode has no time limit and ends when you choose to finish.
